Do you think i chose the wrong choice about doing flute in Wind Ensemble my freshman year?

Well, i auditioned for Wind Ensemble cause i felt like i had a chance in making it even though around 12 flutes tried out and most were sophomores and juniors, and i ended up making third chair out of five people. I do know 1 person in that section and she's the one that helped me with the music to get in. But many people think i wont be able to handle it. My tone is good, i can sight read and play my regular middle school wind ensemble music. But i dont think i'll be able to sight read class B music. I will be able to play it, but it'll have to take me at least a week or two to learn it. Do you think i should've waited to be in wind ensemble in high school? The person that helped me with my audition was in wind ensemble as a freshman and she made it through with no problems, and somehow i got placed a chair in front of her. Do you think ill make it through with little to no problems reading the music. Or should of i waited. The reason i tried out was because if im in wind ensemble now, i'll be a stronger player by the next year which would make it harder for most of the other flute player to catch up to me.
